About Mold Finder
Mold Finder is a mold photo-screening app and a library of guides for people trying to work out what is growing in their home and what to do next.
Who makes it
Mold Finder is built and maintained by Andy JD, an independent software developer.
On Google Play the app is published under the developer name PolygonFleet.
What the app can and cannot do
You photograph a suspected mold spot and the app uses AI to give a visual first look, so you can decide what to check next.
It cannot confirm the species, whether a growth is toxic, or what may be hidden behind a surface. Exact identification needs a professional assessment or laboratory testing, and health concerns belong with a doctor.
How the guides are made
Each guide is drafted with AI assistance, then reviewed and edited by Andy JD before it is published. Health, cleanup and testing guidance is checked against public agencies such as the US EPA and CDC; where a guide relies on one, it links to it in the text.
A guide's "Updated" date changes when its content changes in a meaningful way, not for small wording edits.
